Required | Academy Analyst


JOB PURPOSE

To be responsible for conducting in-depth analysis and deliver feedback and support to players, coaches and the wider multidisciplinary staff.

To work across all age groups, whilst also offering additional support to the wider environment, with a focus on the Recruitment department, to promote the elite learning environment.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To deliver performance analysis support to the Academyplayers, coaches and staff. This may include training analysis, pre-match planning and post-match feedback/feedforward.

• To produce phase-specific post-match reports for the Academy games programme.

• To contribute to the development of academy learning resources, including playing philosophy, coaching syllabus and best practice guides.

• To contribute to multidisciplinary support in line with individual learning plans.

• To provide innovative, project-based exploratory analysis to broader academy programme.

• To ensure production of relevant video materials to support the broader academy.

• To liaise with all relevant staff, where appropriate, to ensure that information, relevant to duties, is communicated effectively.

• To engage high quality communication skills, utilising a number and variety of communication channels, this may involve but not be limited to players, parents, colleagues and external agencies.

• To establish and develop effective working relationships with the academy analysis, coaching and multidisciplinary staff.

• To utilise effective time management skills to ensure all deadlines are met.

• To contribute to an elite learning environment in which players and staff are expected to demonstrate work ethic, integrity and teamwork.

• To ensure player welfare is always the primary consideration.

• To adhere to a strict code of confidentiality in respect of any information relating to Reading Football Club and its operation.

• To be presentable at all times when working and demonstrate that you can represent the face of the club in the manner expected.

• To maintain Reading Football Club’s Safeguarding (Child Protection), Health, Safety and Equal Opportunity procedures and practice.

• To undertake adhoc work on an exceptional basis or provide relevant cover for other team tasks

SKILLS/CAPABILITIES

• Strong verbal and written communications skills

• Experience of working in a sporting environment to provide Performance Analysis support and delivery.

• Excellent knowledge of Apple iWork and Microsoft Office software packages.

• Ability to communicate complex data to a variety of audiences.

KEY PERFORMANANCE INDICATORS

• Exit videos for players leaving the club

• Delivery of 1-1 analysis reviews from games

• KPI reports on all players in the Academy

• Support the coaches in pre and post-match analysis and video’s

• Recording of games and training, alongside the casual staff

• Production of pre and post-match reports for all age groups

• To respond to all enquires within Reading Football Club Charter guidelines

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

• Ability to obtain and retain:

➢ A 2:1 BSc in a Sports Science, Sport Studies, Coaching or Performance Analysis

➢ To undertake Continued Professional Development organised by Reading Football Club

➢ To undertake Safeguarding Training

➢ To undertake Equality, Diversity & Inclusion training
